Every record is of value for education, research and conservation.

WHAT TO RECORD
Four details are essential
What ..... species name - scientific name if possible.
Where ..... location of the find - with 6 figure OS grid reference.
When ..... date it was seen.
Who ..... full name of who it was found by.
Anything else is a bonus - photos, details of the site, insect behaviour and numbers etc.
FOR HELP WITH ID
- Take photos if you can, and make notes about what you found and where.
- There are many useful books and websites, plus apps which provide ID from an uploaded image. See our Resources list for suggestions.
