Insect Events in Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire

The Society has a number of active members who organise and run events on a regular basis a number of which are listed below.

Additionally individuals or groups of members hold their own recording events and activities throughout the year. Some of these are often on the spur of the moment, or with only a couple of days notice. These event details will not be notified to members but where possible will be advertised on this web site so check this page often.

If you wish to attend an event it is your responsibility to get in contact with the event leader.

Please remember that events are subject to change and are dependant on the weather so please confirm with the organiser that the event is going ahead especially if the weather is bad. Also remember to bring suitable footwear, clothing, and equipment (such as torches) to events.

Friday 3rd September 2010 Moth Watch Chellaston Brickworks LNR 8pm until late. Meet at the Scout and Guide Headquarters, Pit Close Lane, Chellaston, Derby DE73 6TL. OS ref SK383303. Saturday 2nd October 2010 AES Exhibition, Kempton Park Race Course, London. 11:00 -16:30 The Exhibition and Trade Fair hosts a mixture of societies' stands and traders selling entomological equipment, livestock, mounted specimens, books and cabinets. The exhibition is the place to buy entomological ephemera, meet fellow enthusiasts and have a great day out. Saturday 6th November 2010 Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire Entomological Society Annual Insect Show. 10:30am - 16:00 pm at Broomfield Hall, Morley on the A608 between Derby and Heanor.
